From once Patrick McCarthy and Darragh O' Hanlon entered the classroom they had the pupils attention.  They had very well organised lessons, were very prepared and very energetic during the classes.  The pupils reacted very well to all four lessons and learned a huge amount about healthy eating, nutrition and the importance of exercise.

Congratulations to Jamie, Luke, Andrew, Ryan, Seamus, Luke, Brayden, John, Nicolas and Conor on winning the Tralee Parnells Cumann na mBunscol Hurling Blitz today.  The boys emerged from their group after defeating Caherleaheen N.S. and C.B.S., Clounalour.  They met Moyderwell N.S. in the final and after a hard fought game our boys were victorious by the smallest of margins - 1 point!

Many thanks to David Diggins (Coach) and David O' Dea (County Board) for coaching the students throughout the year.

Kathleen Finnegan RN delivered CPR training to our 6th class pupils today. This is a Primary School Programme is a community iniatiative is subsidised by the Bon Secours Hospital, Tralee and is free to schools.  The pupils were shown a video and they then had hands on experience on manikins provided for skills practice.

The pupils learned about making an emergency call, how to check for responsiveness, giving compressions, correct hand position and CPR combined with an AED.  They also discussed how and when to help somebody who is choking by abdominal thrusts or the Heimlich Maneuver.

Many thanks to Kathleen and The Bon Secours Hospital.  Click on the link for more photographs:- http://www.hfstralee.com/photo-gallery/cpr-training
